Adding Fall Flavors to Breakfast

This Saturday I was on Fox45 News in Baltimore discussing strategies for incorporating pumpkin into our breakfast meals this fall. There are so many options for pumpkin-flavored items in the fall but many of those items don’t contain any real pumpkin (which is another reason why reading the nutrition facts label is so very important) and/or are loaded with added sugars.I found some awesome ideas for better ways to incorporate pumpkin into our diet from two of my favorite Canadian food bloggers and also developed a few recipes of my own.Watch the segment here:http://foxbaltimore.com/morning/cooking-with-pumpkin-10-10-2015

Recipes from other Food Bloggers:Pumpkin Spice Latte Syrup: I’ve been following Angela Liddon’s blog OhSheGlows.com for some time. She has awesome vegan recipes and when I saw her post on Pumpkin Spice Lattes I knew I had to try it myself. The results are amazing, find her recipe here.Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Muffins: I love Jennifer Pallian’s blog Foodess.com. Not only is she a fellow registered dietitian but she really knows how to whip up some tasty treats in the kitchen. I loved her recipe for Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Muffins because they are loaded with 4 cups of pumpkin puree. Find her recipe here.
